I try to pray before going into a conversation or journal about the situation so I can see the others heart.

I definitely don’t do this anywhere near perfection but I have seen significant differences in the outcomes when I invite the Lord in and sometimes I just need to listen…what a revelation, I thought “I” had to talk (pride).

This makes me think of an acrostic I once heard for the word WAIT.

Why

Am

I

Talking

Sometimes for me the greatest way to be heard is to choose to listen without expectation of “it’s my turn next.”

Lord speak through me, give me eyes to see and ears to hear, let Your will be done not thy will.

Thank you for this article.

It's strange, how pride conceals itself among arbitrary things! We say we are not proud full, yet be proud in that statement. I would be falling constantly. If not for his grace, for so often my flesh gets ahead of me! Thank you for your message!

That’s very well said. Pride really does have a way of disguising itself in subtle ways.

It's very easy to forget the essential person we need to focus on in stressful situations 'God' the ONE who gave us life. He knows our hearts our every thought yet we ... as you've said... let pride or other seemingly important issues get in our way. But He forgives us without a moments hesitation because He loved us before we ever knew anything.... Amen thank You God Amen 🙏

This is good, real good.

When I see the news, all those people in the streets, all that anger, all the hate, it makes me wonder, what happened to them?

I wish there was a way for all of them to just sit down and read this, reflect on it, then share it with someone else.

Thank you for writing this.

I’ve had that same thought when watching the news. Many arguments would probably change if people paused to listen first.
